A new study, ENabling Reduction of low-Grade Inflammation in SEniors Pilot (ENRGISE), has been posted to the AgingResearchBiobank website. Data and biospecimens from this study are now available for request.

The ENabling Reduction of low-Grade Inflammation in SEniors (ENRGISE) pilot study was conducted to test whether omega-3 fish oil and the angiotensin receptor blocker losartan alone or in combination can reduce inflammation and improve walking speed in older adults with mobility impairment. This multicenter double-blind placebo controlled three strata clinical trial enrolled participants between April 2016 and June 2017. Participants were 70 years and over, with mobility impairment, had IL-6 between 2.5 and 30pg/mL, and had a 4 m walking speed at usual pace of less than 1 m/s but were able to complete the 400 m walk at baseline.
